Senior SMSF Accountant Position Overview

This is a challenging role that involves preparing and reviewing SMSF financial statements, tax returns, and compliance documentation. The successful candidate will have extensive experience in SMSF compliance and accounting, as well as leadership skills to review and mentor junior accountants.

The key responsibilities of this position include:

  • Preparing and reviewing SMSF financial statements, tax returns, and compliance documentation.

  • Reviewing and managing complex fund transactions including pensions, contributions, and investment portfolios.

  • Liaising with auditors to finalise SMSF compliance reviews.

  • Supervising and mentoring intermediate accountants.

  • Providing technical support to client managers.

Requirements:

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years' experience in SMSF accounting within an Australian firm.

  • In-depth knowledge of SMSF legislation, SIS Act, and ATO requirements.

  • Experience with Class Super or other SMSF administration software.

  • Strong review and supervisory skills.

  • Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
