Cloud Infrastructure Engineer Role

The Cloud Infrastructure Engineer works closely with cloud platform teams to design, deploy and operate cloud-native systems and services. The engineer ensures that internally and externally facing systems meet and exceed SLAs by continuously improving and optimizing existing systems and introducing modern technologies.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supports infrastructure-as-code scripts, pipeline automation, and DevSecOps tools; monitors industry trends to improve speed to market and team autonomy.
  • Executes established automation for updates and upgrades.
  • Participates in incident response, root cause analysis, and drives production improvements for key issues that create business opportunities.
  • Provides guidance on enabling end-to-end availability and performance of mission-critical services.
  • Works on building automation to eliminate waste and manual tasks, prevent problem recurrence, and respond to service alerts.
  • Supports Kubernetes clusters in Azure and AWS, including cluster management, upgrades, security policies, and application deployment.
  • Executes and manages infrastructure-as-code automation with Terraform.
  • Executes tasks aligned to projects in the operations space (upgrades, rollouts of technology).
  • Promotes a continuous improvement culture across teams.
  • Builds relationships with corporate infrastructure leads and teams.
  • Includes security in all planning and work.
Required Skills:
  • Working knowledge of infrastructure operations and engineering concepts in AWS and Azure.
  • Strategic problem solving, analytical, and decision-making ability with a sense of urgency.
  • Desire to measure and continuously improve with a metrics-and-reporting mindset.
  • Experience building, maintaining, monitoring, logging, and optimizing cloud-native solutions.
  • Experience with Terraform, Kubernetes environments, GitHub Actions libraries, and scripting.
  • Experience with Azure and AWS cloud platforms.
  • Experience with DevOps tools and patterns; Data DevOps, DevSecOps.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Customer and end-user experience focus; ability to establish relationships and influence colleagues.
  • Experience working in a hybrid model.
Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field, or equivalent work experience.
