Job Title: Database Administrator

We are seeking a skilled Database Administrator to join our team. As a key member of our IT department, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining our MySQL databases.

The successful candidate will have extensive experience in database administration, with a strong focus on performance tuning, optimization, and maintenance. They will also be skilled in MS SQL Server administration, including regular maintenance, backup management, and performance monitoring.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Administer and maintain MySQL databases to ensure optimal performance and efficiency
  • Support MS SQL Server administration, including regular maintenance and performance monitoring
  • Design, implement, and test robust backup and disaster recovery strategies
  • Collaborate with technical colleagues to resolve database-related challenges efficiently
  • Troubleshoot and optimize slow-running or problematic database queries
  • Resolve transaction-related issues such as deadlocks, hung transactions, and locking problems
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • At least 3 years of hands-on experience in MySQL administration
  • Strong knowledge of storage engines (InnoDB vs MyISAM)
  • Proven expertise in query optimization and troubleshooting performance issues
  • Experience with deadlock resolution and transaction management
  • Backup/restore strategy implementation experience
  • Familiarity with Zabbix monitoring or similar tools
