Fire Sprinkler Systems Designer and Estimator

A seasoned mechanical engineer with expertise in fire sprinkler system design and estimation is required to excel in this challenging role. The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with clients and internal teams to craft innovative fire protection solutions for commercial and residential projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design Fire Sprinkler Systems: Utilize industry-leading software such as AutoCAD, Revit, and MEP tools to create detailed fire sprinkler system designs.
  • Estimate Project Costs: Develop accurate project cost estimates and prepare take-offs using Planswift and Excel, ensuring timely completion of projects.
  • Ensure Compliance: Verify that designs adhere to New York City Building Codes and applicable standards, guaranteeing a safe and compliant environment.
  • Review Architectural and Mechanical Plans: Conduct thorough reviews of architectural and mechanical plans to inform system layouts and optimize system performance.
  • Collaborate Remotely: Collaborate effectively with project managers, contractors, and clients across remote locations.
  • Apply Hydraulic Calculation Software: Leverage Fire Elite or equivalent software to perform hydraulic calculations and enhance system efficiency.
Requirements:
  • CAD Proficiency: Possess strong proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, Planswift, Excel, and Fire Elite software.
  • Mep Design Tools: Familiarity with MEP design tools is essential.
  • New York City Building Codes: Strong understanding of New York City Building Codes is mandatory.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required for effective collaboration.
  • Time Management Skills: Detail-oriented with exceptional time management skills to prioritize tasks efficiently.
  • Fire Sprinkler Design Experience: A minimum of 2 years of experience in fire sprinkler design and estimation is necessary to succeed in this role.
