Job Title

We are seeking a seasoned WordPress developer to join our team as a Full Stack Engineer. This is a remote position that requires expertise in building and customising WordPress sites, creating engaging user experiences, and ensuring seamless integration with our digital ecosystem.

About the Role

This full-time Independent Contractor will be responsible for designing user flows, wireframes, and mockups for new WordPress website features and enhancements. They will also implement SEO best practices to maximise site visibility and performance.

The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and PHP. They should also be familiar with design tools such as Adobe Photoshop or Figma, and have experience managing WordPress CMS environments, including hosting, security, and updates.

We are looking for someone who is proactive, detail-oriented, collaborative, adaptable, and innovative. They should thrive in a fast-changing environment and be able to work well with cross-functional teams across different time zones.

Key Responsibilities
  • Build custom WordPress themes and plugins to support new features and design requirements.
  • Design user flows, wireframes, and mockups for new WordPress website features and enhancements.
  • Ensure responsive, mobile-friendly, and user-centred design across platforms.
  • Implement SEO best practices to maximise site visibility and performance.
  • Understand WordPress architecture, PHP, and MySQL; manage hosting environments, deployments, and database optimisation; troubleshoot performance and security issues on the server side.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Minimum 3 years' professional experience as a WordPress developer.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and customise WordPress themes and plugins.
  • Strong knowledge of HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and PHP.
  • Experience managing WordPress CMS environments, including hosting, security, and updates.
  • Proven track record of developing responsive, cross-browser compatible websites.
  • Familiarity with SEO fundamentals and website performance optimisation.
