Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced and proactive Cloud Infrastructure Engineer/DevOps Engineer to oversee, automate, and manage our environment efficiently.

Job Title: Cloud Infrastructure Engineer/DevOps Engineer

Department: Engineering

Reports to: CTO

Shift: Day Shift

Position: Open-Ended Contract Role

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Cloud Infrastructure Management: Manage and maintain AWS infrastructure, including EC2, ALB, CloudFront, and S3, across multiple regions to ensure optimal performance, high availability, and security.
  2. Provisioning and Automation: Utilize Pulumi to create and manage Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions for automated provisioning and configuration.
  3. Monitoring and Optimization: Monitor system performance using New Relic and proactively resolve issues. Optimize resource usage for cost efficiency and performance.
  4. Deployment Automation: Manage and enhance deployment pipelines with Octopus Deploy, ensuring seamless releases aligned with CI/CD best practices.
  5. Backup and Disaster Recovery: Develop and implement robust backup and disaster recovery plans to ensure data integrity and business continuity.
  6. Security Management: Implement and monitor cloud security best practices, access controls, and compliance with relevant industry standards.
  7. Collaboration and Support: Collaborate with development teams to support deployments and resolve infrastructure issues. Offer technical expertise to improve team effectiveness.
  8. Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of cloud architecture, operational procedures, and policies to ensure knowledge sharing and continuity.

Key Competencies and Experience:

Minimum Requirements:

  1. Experience: 5+ years in cloud infrastructure management, preferably within AWS, with expertise in EC2, ALB, CloudFront, and S3.
  2. Skills: Proficiency in Pulumi (IaC), scripting (Python, Bash), and CI/CD tools like Octopus Deploy.
  3. Monitoring Tools: Experience with New Relic or similar monitoring tools.
  4. Database Knowledge: Familiarity with RavenDB Cloud or other NoSQL databases.
  5. Automation: Proven experience in automating deployment, scaling, and system health checks.
  6. Certifications: AWS Certified Solutions Architect or AWS Certified DevOps Engineer preferred.
  7. Soft Skills: Strong problem-solving skills, effective communication, and ability to work in a collaborative team environment.
