Analytics Data Specialist

We are looking for a detail-oriented Analytics Data Specialist to join our growing data team. As an integral part of our analytics department, you will be responsible for building clean, reliable, and extensible data models that power business reporting and decision-making.

  • The ideal candidate brings strong technical skills, including 2+ years of data modeling at production level, with expertise in SQL (MySQL or similar), dbt, and visualization tooling (Looker preferred). Experience with JSON and CSV is also required.
  • Solid understanding of Git (commit, branch, merge) and ability to write clean and composable SQL code are necessary for this role.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Take full ownership of the transformation layer (dbt) and ensure it provides clean, well-tested, and performant datasets for analytics and reporting.
  • Build curated data marts or semantic layers that allow business users or dashboard developers to self-serve reporting needs without requiring custom SQL queries.
  • Proactively monitor data pipelines and anomalies using tools like Monte Carlo, and take ownership of triaging data quality issues before they impact stakeholders.
Requirements:
  • Experience working with cloud-based data platforms, such as GCP or AWS.
  • Familiarity with data orchestration tools, like Prefect or Airflow.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
