Prior Authorization and Scheduling Specialist Role
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented professional to manage insurance verification, prior authorization duties, and patient scheduling efficiently while delivering exceptional patient service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Verify Insurance Coverage: Ensure accurate insurance verification for medications, diagnostic tests, and procedures.
- Schedule Patient Appointments: Coordinate with healthcare teams to schedule patient appointments, follow-ups, and procedures.
- Manage Patient Calls: Handle a high volume of inbound and outbound patient calls while maintaining professionalism and empathy.
- Communicate with Patients: Clearly communicate with patients regarding authorizations, scheduling, and preparation requirements.
- Collaborate with Team Members: Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other staff to ensure smooth patient flow and minimize delays.
- Maintain Accurate Documentation: Maintain accurate documentation in electronic medical records and insurance portals.
Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years' experience in insurance verification, prior authorizations, and/or medical scheduling.
- Strong knowledge of insurance processes, benefits verification, and prior authorization workflows.
- Excellent spoken English with a neutral or clear accent (critical for patient communication).
- Ability to handle a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Strong interpersonal skills and patient-first attitude.
- Experience in an Endocrinology or specialty care setting is a plus.
