Senior Accountant (CPA Licensed)

As we continue to scale and develop our Finance function, we are looking to recruit a Senior Accountant with an active CPA license to join our fast-paced Controllership team.

This person will be responsible for the timely and accurate processing of invoices, payments, and reconciliations, while also ensuring compliance with accounting standards and contributing to accurate financial reporting and positive vendor relations.

The Senior Accountant will be responsible for managing the day-to-day accounts payable operations, supporting general ledger functions, and assisting in month-end close activities.

This role involves overseeing complex invoice processing, maintaining vendor relationships, and mentoring junior team members.

The ideal candidate will bring technical accounting expertise, strong problem-solving skills, and a continuous improvement mindset.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Process and manage a high volume of invoices, ensuring accurate coding and approval in accordance with company policies.
2. Review and verify vendor invoices against contracts and receipts to ensure accuracy and compliance.
3. Handle complex invoice discrepancies and vendor payment issues, working directly with vendors and internal departments to resolve.
4. Assist in the preparation of payment runs, ensuring all payments are processed on time and in line with vendor agreements.
5. Maintain and update vendor information, ensuring accuracy of records in the accounts payable system.
6. Support the month-end and year-end closing processes, including the preparation of accruals, journal entries, and reconciliations for accounts payable.
7. Ensure VAT, WHT, and income tax compliance in line with local regulations.
8. Contribute to the development and implementation of AP policies and procedures to improve efficiency and accuracy within the department.
9. Provide training and mentorship to junior accounts payable staff, ensuring they understand and adhere to AP processes and best practices.
10. Review and reconcile vendor statements, following up on outstanding issues to ensure timely resolution.
11. Generate and analyze AP reports to monitor aging and cash flow. Assist with audits, providing necessary documentation and supporting evidence for AP-related inquiries. Identify areas for process improvement within the AP function and contribute to initiatives aimed at enhancing efficiency and reducing errors.

Qualifications and Competencies:

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or a related field.
• Active CPA license
• 5+ years of experience in AP accounting or related financial roles, with at least 2 years in a senior or independent role and a focus on international transactions.
• Strong understanding of AP processes, accounting principles, tax regulations, and financial controls.
• Strong understanding of local and/or US GAAP and financial accounting principles.
• Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Excellent organizational and analytical skills, with a strong attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to collaborate across departments and manage vendor relationships.
• Proven track record in process improvements and mentoring junior colleagues.
• Proficiency in English at a B2 level or higher.
• Shift Schedule:1:00 PM – 10:00 PM manila time.
• Work Arrangement:100% remote after 1 day onsite training.
