Cloud Engineer Job Description

Our organization is seeking a highly skilled Cloud Engineer to design, implement, and maintain scalable, reliable, and secure cloud environments. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with cloud architectures, particularly AWS, and be proficient in administering AWS services such as ECS, CloudFront, CloudFormation/Terraform, CloudWatch, IAM, and more.

The successful candidate will drive cloud strategy and ensure efficient and secure operation of cloud-based systems. This role requires passion for cloud technologies, automation, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and manage complex cloud environments using cloud architecture principles and AWS best practices.
  • Develop and maintain automated pipelines integrating tools to ensure efficient and reliable software delivery.
  • Manage and support Docker and Kubernetes to enhance scalability and flexibility.
  • Implement Application Performance Monitoring (APM) solutions and use CloudWatch, CloudWatch Events/Alarms, syslogs, and other cloud analytics tools for observability.
  • Automate tasks using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) with tools like Terraform to streamline deployment of containers and EC2 instances.
  • Support developers with release issues, build automated release frameworks, and integrate test automation into CI/CD processes.
  • Apply AWS security best practices to protect infrastructure.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Proven experience building CI/CD pipelines.
  • Expertise in Docker, Kubernetes, and container management tools.
  • Strong knowledge of AWS cloud architecture, security, and compliance.
  • Proficiency with observability tools and APM solutions.
  • Experience with IaC and automation tools.
  • IT operations skills including troubleshooting, server management, database management, and network troubleshooting.
  • System administration skills: Apache/Nginx configuration, OS updates, and patching.
  • Strong scripting skills.
