Software Asset Management Professional

The role of Software Asset Management (SAM) is crucial in today's digital landscape, where software licensing agreements play a vital part in ensuring compliance, cost-efficiency, and adherence to legal requirements. As a SAM Specialist, you will be responsible for managing and optimizing software licenses within an organization.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Enforce compliance with software licensing agreements to prevent legal issues and financial penalties.
  • Collaborate with procurement teams to negotiate and acquire software licenses at the most favorable terms and pricing.
  • Maintain an up-to-date inventory of software licenses, tracking usage, expiration dates, and renewal requirements.
  • Identify opportunities to reduce software licensing costs while maintaining required functionality.
  • BUILD AND MAINTAIN RELATIONSHIPS WITH SOFTWARE VENDORS.
  • DEVELOP AND IMPLEMENT SOFTWARE LICENSING POLICIES AND GUIDELINES.
  • CONDUCT REGULAR SOFTWARE LICENSE AUDITS.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, Business, or a related field.
  • IN-DEPTH KNOWLEDGE OF SOFTWARE LICENSING MODELS.
  • EXPERIENCE MANAGING IBM LICENSES.
  • Negotiation skills for software licensing agreements.
  • Familiarity with license management tools and software asset management practices.
  • Strong analytical and communication skills and collaboration skills to work effectively in a global team.
