Job Description
The Container Yard Manager oversees daily operations, ensuring efficient handling of containers, yard equipment, trucking, and dispatching. This role involves leading the container yard team through effective communication and aligning their KPIs with PSACC objectives.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Oversee and supervise container yard activities, including handling, storage, and transportation.
  • Plan and organize yard layouts to maximize space efficiency through collaboration with stakeholders.
  • Maintain yard equipment, such as containers, forklifts, and cranes, through coordination with LBE.
  • Track container inventory, including incoming and outgoing shipments, allocation of Container Vans, and other related activities.
  • Ensure high customer service levels through proper coordination and communication with partners and clients.
  • Provide support to Cold Chain Operation in CY, ensuring smooth movement of Cold Chain Container Vans.
  • Conduct daily shift meetings with key CY personnel to monitor daily activities.
  • Manage yard budgets, including expenses related to personnel, equipment maintenance, and yard operations.
  • Generate reports on yard operations, analyze data to identify trends, and implement improvements.
  • Collaborate with vendors and suppliers to ensure timely availability of equipment and resources.
  • Enforce safety protocols to protect employees and cargo.
  • Maintain accurate records of container movements.
  • Ensure compliance with local regulations governing container handling and shipping.

Leadership and Administrative Functions
  • Recruit, train, and develop transportation team members.
  • Inspire and motivate team members, address conflicts or disputes promptly.
  • Set, monitor, and assess individual goals and performance metrics of team members.
  • Maintain open and transparent communication within the team.
  • Ensure day-to-day administrative duties are completed on time.
