Alternative Teacher

The Substitute Instructor plays a pivotal role in facilitating the personal, social, and intellectual development of students. In order to cater to the diverse needs and abilities of students, the Substitute Instructor must effectively follow lesson plans created by the Classroom Instructor.

Responsibilities include:

• Creating a positive and inclusive learning environment that fosters growth and engagement among students.
• Maintaining accurate records and communicating effectively with colleagues and administrators.
• Adhering to established district policies and procedures to ensure consistency and equity in instructional practices.

Key Qualifications:

• Current Kansas State Teaching Certificate or current Kansas State Emergency Substitute Certificate.

Physical Requirements/Environmental Conditions:

• Requires the ability to sit and/or stand for prolonged periods.
• Occasionally requires the ability to manually move, lift, carry, pull or push heavy objects or materials.
• Must be able to work indoors and outdoors year round.
