Job Title: Senior Financial Analyst

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled financial professional to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical accounting skills, excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, and experience with financial systems and software.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Owning the general ledger, including preparation and review of journals, accruals, amortizations, and reconciliations.
  • Maintaining the accuracy and completeness of financial records, including accounts payable and receivable.
  • Preparing US GAAP financial statements and management reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
Avalara Expertise:
  • Administering Avalara AvaTax, including product/service tax code mapping, nexus settings, and jurisdiction updates.
  • Monitoring economic nexus and managing state/city/county registrations, maintaining a current taxability matrix.
  • Driving monthly sales/use tax close, reconciling Avalara liability reports to the general ledger, investigating variances, and booking entries.
Process Improvement:
  • Strengthening accounting policies, close checklists, and SOX-style controls appropriate for company stage.
  • Automating manual processes to reduce errors and improve efficiency.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field.
  • CPA certification.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in financial accounting, preferably in a senior role.
  • Experience with financial systems, including ERP and accounting software.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
