Crop and Livestock Management

At Phil National Lines, Inc., we are seeking an experienced Agricultural Specialist to join our team. As an Agricultural Specialist, you will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and overseeing the cultivation of crops, including selecting suitable varieties, preparing land, planting seeds, applying fertilizers and pesticides, and managing irrigation systems. You will also be responsible for managing the care and breeding of livestock, such as cattle, poultry, pigs, and sheep. Your duties will include ensuring proper nutrition, housing, health care, and reproductive management to maximize productivity and profitability. Additionally, you will be responsible for assessing soil fertility, structure, and composition, and implementing soil conservation practices, such as crop rotation, cover cropping, and contour plowing, to improve soil health and prevent erosion. You will also manage water resources efficiently through irrigation scheduling, water recycling, and conservation practices to minimize water usage and environmental impact. Furthermore, you will develop and implement integrated pest management (IPM) strategies to control pests, weeds, and diseases while minimizing reliance on chemical pesticides. You will monitor pest populations, implement biological and cultural control methods, and use chemical treatments judiciously and in accordance with safety and environmental regulations.
