Lead WordPress Developer Position

This is a high-level technical role focused on leading the development of complex web applications using WordPress as the core technology. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in custom theme and plugin development, as well as strong leadership skills to guide a team of developers.


The successful applicant will be responsible for overseeing the entire development process, from initial planning to deployment, ensuring that projects are completed on time and within budget. This includes writing clean, scalable code, integrating third-party services, and collaborating with the team to resolve issues and implement best practices.


In addition to technical expertise, the Lead WordPress Developer will play a key role in communicating project progress to stakeholders and management, identifying opportunities for improvement, and implementing changes to enhance overall quality and efficiency.



Key Responsibilities:
  • Leads a team of developers in designing, developing, and maintaining complex web applications using WordPress.
  • Collaborates with cross-functional teams to understand project requirements and develop solutions that meet business needs.
  • Develops and implements technical strategies to ensure scalability, performance, and security of web applications.
  • Serves as a subject matter expert for WordPress development, providing guidance and training to team members.
  • Identifies opportunities for process improvements and implements changes to enhance overall quality and efficiency.
  • Communicates project progress to stakeholders and management, addressing concerns and escalating issues as necessary.
  • Maintains up-to-date knowledge of emerging technologies and industry trends, applying this knowledge to drive innovation and improve existing processes.


Requirements:
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in WordPress development, with a focus on custom theme and plugin creation.
  • 3+ years of experience leading a development team, with a proven track record of success.
  • Strong understanding of WordPress architecture, including multisite configuration, custom themes, plugins, and Gutenberg editor.
  • Proficiency in front-end technologies such as SASS, CSS3, JavaScript, HTML5, and jQuery.
  • Experience with backend developments such as WordPress, PHP, MySQL, API integrations, JSON, and XML.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple projects simultaneously.


Bonus Requirements:
  • Knowledge of JavaScript frameworks such as React, Angular, AlpineJS, and Vue.
  • Experience with Webflow, Sketch, and Invision.
  • Proficiency in other tools and platforms such as WooCommerce, Shopify, Pardot, and Hubspot.
