Senior WordPress Developer (Philippines – Temp-to-Full-Time)

We are seeking an experienced Senior WordPress Developer based in the Philippines to join our team. This role begins as a 2-month contract with the strong potential to transition into a full-time, long-term position for the right candidate.

About the Role

You will take ownership of high-level WordPress development projects, focusing on building, customizing, and optimizing websites that are scalable, secure, and user-friendly. The initial engagement will involve a 2-month project with tight deadlines and complex requirements. After successful completion, you will have the opportunity to grow with our team as a permanent member.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, customize, and maintain advanced WordPress themes and plugins.
  • Optimize site performance (speed, SEO, and security).
  • Implement responsive, cross-browser compatible designs.
  • Integrate third-party tools, APIs, and e-commerce functionality.
  • Collaborate with our design and marketing teams to deliver seamless solutions.
  • Troubleshoot issues and provide ongoing technical support.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of professional WordPress development experience.
  • Strong proficiency in Java, JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3, and AWS.
  • Deep knowledge of WordPress architecture, hooks, and REST API.
  • Experience with page builders (Elementor, WPBakery, etc.).
  • Familiarity with WooCommerce and other popular plugins.
  • Strong understanding of web performance optimization, SEO best practices, and security standards.
  • Ability to manage projects independently with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent communication skills (English proficiency required).

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with Git or other version control systems.
  • Familiarity with Agile development practices.
  • UI/UX design awareness.
  • Ability to lead projects and mentor junior developers.
