Remote Linux Systems Engineer

The ideal candidate for this role will be responsible for providing support in a 24x7 production environment focusing on Ubuntu Linux servers. This involves performing daily maintenance, monitoring, and troubleshooting of Linux systems and services.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver remote system administration in a 24x7 production environment with a focus on Ubuntu Linux servers.
  • Conduct regular maintenance, monitoring, and troubleshooting of Linux systems and services.
  • Triage and resolve technical issues as they arise, escalating when necessary.
  • Investigate alerts, coordinate responses, and document communication with team members.
Requirements:
  • At least one year of experience in production Linux system administration.
  • Strong troubleshooting and communication skills.
  • Ability to work varied shift schedules, including early morning, evening, night, weekend, and holiday shifts.
  • Proficiency in Bash scripting, with the ability to understand and modify GoLang and Perl.
  • Familiarity with user management, configuration, and package management best practices.
  • Experience managing Proxmox or similar Linux KVM hypervisor.
  • Knowledge and experience with technologies such as Apache, Nginx, HAProxy, MySQL, Redis, Memcache, ScyllaDB, Elasticsearch, RabbitMQ, Nagios, Prometheus, Grafana, Proxmox, Bash, Perl, Go, PHP, Ceph, CFEngine, Git, Docker, and Juniper.
