Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Education Expert to support the implementation of a project aimed at desegregating Roma children in education. The expert will work closely with various stakeholders to develop resources and conduct capacity-building activities.

The project aims to provide high-quality education to Roma children, enabling them to acquire better skills, knowledge, and equal opportunities. This will promote inclusion, respect for diversity, and multiculturalism, while eliminating prejudices, stereotypes, and discrimination against Roma children in the education system.

The selected candidate will be responsible for conducting an EU/international review of good practices in addressing education segregation specifically for Roma children. They will also develop a toolkit for capacity building of regional and national stakeholders and deliver capacity-building workshops.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Conduct a comprehensive review of existing research on education segregation and inclusive education, identifying best practices and effective strategies.
  2. Develop a tailored toolkit for capacity building of regional and national stakeholders, incorporating evidence-based approaches and methodologies.
  3. Deliver training sessions and workshops for MoEDRY representatives, equipping them with the necessary skills and knowledge to implement inclusive education practices.
  4. Provide technical expertise to project activities, revising the research plan for monitoring Roma education segregation and reviewing the final report with recommendations.
Requirements
  • Advanced degree in international development, human rights, education, or another relevant social science field.
  • At least ten years of professional work experience in education, inclusive education, or inclusion of the most vulnerable groups in education.
  • Knowledge and/or experience in conducting or managing research projects, developing resources/materials for training, and delivering trainings.
  • Good knowledge of the international/regional framework and trends in inclusive education, including Roma inclusion.
  • Excellent networking and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Fluent written and spoken English, with excellent communication and presentation skills.
