Job Summary

The Building Engineer will oversee the monitoring, maintenance, and repair of building systems to ensure optimal performance.

This role is part of the Engineering Services team, focusing on support, preventive maintenance, and repairs of equipment and systems.

  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on mechanical, plumbing, structural, fire, life safety, and control systems.
  • Ensure facility and building systems meet applicable standards, codes, regulations, and safety standards.
  • Maintain an energy management program to optimize system efficiency.
  • Assist in implementing preventive maintenance to prolong equipment lifespan and perform emergency repairs as needed.
  • Follow safety policies for hazardous materials and maintain a clean, safe workplace environment.
  • Inspect building systems, including fire alarms, HVAC, and plumbing, to ensure proper operation and environmental compliance.
  • Apply technical knowledge to solve complex issues and provide innovative solutions.
  • Share expertise and mentor others within the team.
  • Lead by example, embodying company values, and foster team consensus.
  • Contribute to customer satisfaction, operational efficiency, and project activities.

Requirements

  • Licensed Electrical or Mechanical Engineer with at least 2 years of relevant Facilities Management experience; Data Center experience is a plus.
  • Experience with critical equipment.
  • Strong judgment skills based on multi-source analysis.
  • Open to new perspectives on existing solutions.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Organizational skills with a curious mindset.
  • Advanced math skills for calculations involving percentages, fractions, and financial figures.
