The Database/System Administrator manages and administers the MLFF system, ensuring consistency with MLFF System requirements and quality and security standards. The Database/System Administrator participates in defining and implementing the MLFF system chosen databases and software packages.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Defines the database implementation approach.
  2. Coordinates the creation of the databases in conjunction with the relevant system administrators and project managers.
  3. Implements database management solutions and adapts, administers, and maintains them to meet and exceed the availability and performance requirements of the MLFF system.
  4. Coordinates with the Database Analyst the setup and management of data servers (administration, automation, procedural development, security, and access authorization, optimization of data processing and queries, etc.).
  5. Develops and implements data administration policies, standards, and models.
  6. Documents data requirements, data collection, and administration policy, data access rules, and security.
  7. Develop policies and procedures for network and/or Internet database access and usage and for the backup and recovery of data.
  8. As required, create specific tools to support the operation of the MLFF system.

Operations:

  1. Ensure database integrity through hardware security measures (backup procedures, data recovery, logging, post-incident restarts) and electronic information security (confidentiality, access control).
  2. Implement and manage monitoring tools to oversee database performance.
  3. Configure database parameters to optimize performance and resource utilization.

What We Are Looking For:

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
  • Proven experience in database management and administration.
  • Proficiency in SQL, Oracle, MySQL, and other database management systems.
  • Strong understanding of database security, backup, and recovery solutions.
  • Experience with database performance tuning and optimization.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
  • Certifications such as Certified Database Administrator (CDBA) or Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate are a plus.
