Job Description

We're looking for exceptional software engineers who prefer to work in Rust. Your primary responsibilities will include designing and implementing well-tested and well-documented software in Rust, advocating for its adoption in Canonical and upstream projects, identifying potential projects and codebases for Rust adoption, debugging and fixing issues encountered by users, participating in engineering process reviews, collaborating with community and colleagues on technical specifications, and continuously improving engineering and operations practices.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Extensive personal experience with Linux
  • Excellent software engineering skills, including design, implementation, and testing
  • Strong advocacy and communication skills
  • Ability to identify and prioritize opportunities for Rust adoption
  • Experience with code reviews and architectural discussions
  • Familiarity with open-source development practices
