Accountant Position

The role of an Accountant involves performing various accounting-related tasks, including tax return processing, document collection, bookkeeping, research, reconciliation, and budgeting.

We are seeking a highly skilled and organized professional who can work independently in an autonomous environment. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field and be proficient in tax and accounting software/tools such as QuickBooks, CCH Access/ProFX Tax, and Microsoft 365 applications.

Responsibilities include:

  • Preparing personal and business tax returns, including preparation of work papers and using templates
  • Contacting clients for information or documents required to complete returns
  • Conducting independent research on necessary laws prior to submitting returns to reviewers
  • Providing reviewers with complete and accurate returns to avoid open items
  • Preparing tax projections and planning tasks for clients, including determining tax liability, salary requirements, and payroll liabilities
  • Handling correspondences with IRS and state agencies, preparing payment plan paperwork, Powers of Attorney, S Elections, SS-4s, and State registrations
  • Performing external bookkeeping, adjusting balance sheets, handling year-end adjustments, and providing internal and external QuickBooks support for clients
  • Reviewing monthly and quarterly bookkeeping, updating bookkeeping and payroll lists, and preparing W-2s, W-3s, 1099s, and 1096s at year-end

Compliance with all firms' policies and procedures is essential for this role. Strong data management, analytics, and reporting preparation skills are also required.
