Our organization is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Prior Authorization Specialist to support our Endocrinology department. This role combines insurance verification and prior authorization duties with patient scheduling, requiring a candidate who can manage both efficiently while delivering exceptional patient service.
Key Responsibilities:- Verify insurance coverage and obtain prior authorizations for medications, diagnostic tests, and procedures.
- Schedule patient appointments, follow-ups, and procedures in coordination with the Endocrinology team.
- Manage high volumes of inbound and outbound patient calls while maintaining professionalism and empathy.
- Communicate clearly with patients regarding authorizations, scheduling, and preparation requirements.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other staff to ensure smooth patient flow and minimize delays.
- Maintain accurate documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR) and insurance portals.
