Responsibilities:

  • Design client advertising materials, including layout and basic copywriting.
  • Manage the ad trafficking process using Mirabel Magazine Manager for organization, as well as email and phone communication with clients to obtain camera-ready ads, proofs, and revisions.
  • Perform basic website updates and design in WordPress/Magento.
  • Create email marketing campaigns using MailChimp/Constant Contact.
  • Collaborate closely with the editorial team to comprehend thematic and visual requirements of each issue.
  • Design innovative and striking magazine layouts that complement content, showcasing automobiles in an engaging manner.
  • Integrate a deep understanding of typography, color theory, and design principles to enhance overall aesthetic of magazines.
  • Select high-quality images, ensuring they are properly retouched and optimized for print.
  • Work collaboratively with photographers, writers, and editors to ensure seamless integration of content and design.
  • Maintain consistency in design elements while infusing fresh ideas and creativity into each issue.
  • Ensure all layouts are print-ready by deadlines and adhere to production timelines.
  • Stay updated with design trends, automotive industry developments, and printing technologies to bring innovative ideas to the table.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a layout artist, preferably with a focus on editorial design and magazines.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator) or similar design software.
  • A portfolio demonstrating a strong understanding of layout design, typography, color usage, and image selection.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a creative team.
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to producing high-quality work.
  • Understanding of print production processes and requirements.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing project demands and timelines.
  • Experience in Marketing, including basic website design and email marketing.
  • Experience with Marketo/WordPress/Magento.
  • Ability to work from home during US hours (9 a.m.-6 p.m. MST).
  • Direct communication with clients.
