Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled Magazine Layout Artist with Marketing Background to join our team. As a key member of our editorial team, you will be responsible for designing innovative and visually striking magazine layouts that showcase automobiles in the most captivating way.

Responsibilities:

  • Client Advertising Design: Design and create client advertising materials, including print ads, digital ads, and social media graphics.
  • Ad Trafficking: Organize and manage client ad trafficking process using industry-standard tools and software.
  • Website Updates: Perform basic website updates and design in WordPress/Magento.
  • Email Marketing: Develop and send email campaigns using MailChimp/Constant Contact.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the editorial team to understand thematic and visual requirements of each issue.
  • Design Requirements: Incorporate a keen understanding of typography, color theory, and design principles to enhance overall aesthetic of magazines.
  • Image Selection: Source and select high-quality images, ensuring they are properly retouched and optimized for print.
  • Teamwork: Collaborate with photographers, writers, and editors to ensure seamless integration of content and design.
  • Timely Delivery: Maintain consistency in design elements while infusing fresh ideas and creativity into each issue.
  • Staying Up-to-Date: Stay updated with design trends, automotive industry developments, and printing technologies to bring innovative ideas to the table.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: Proven experience as a layout artist, ideally with a focus on editorial design and magazines.
  • Software Proficiency: Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator) or similar design software.
  • Portfolio: A portfolio showcasing a strong understanding of layout design, typography, color usage, and image selection.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a creative team.
  • Attention to Detail: Detail-oriented with a commitment to producing high-quality work.
  • Print Production: Understanding of print production processes and requirements.
  • Flexibility: Flexibility to adapt to changing project demands and timelines.
  • Marketing Experience: Experience in marketing, including basic website design and email marketing.
  • Technical Skills: Experience in Marketo/WordPress/Magento.
  • Work Schedule: Ability to work from home with US hours (9 a.m.-6 p.m. MST).
  • Client Interaction: Direct interaction with clients.
