Financial Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced financial professional to join our team. As a Staff Consultant, Accountant, you will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records for multiple international entities.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate financial records for multiple international entities, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP and IFRS standards.
• Manage AP, AR, and general ledger functions in complex multi-entity environments, utilizing QuickBooks Enterprise Diamond system administration skills.
• Process inter-company transactions and eliminations, ensuring seamless coordination across departments.
• Prepare variance analyses and performance reports for executives, providing actionable insights for business growth.
• Ensure SEC and public company disclosure requirements are met, adhering to strict regulatory guidelines.

Regulatory Compliance and Industry Expertise

• Navigate complex accounting standards for pharmaceutical and nutraceutical sectors, staying up-to-date on industry trends and developments.
• Manage reporting for FDA, EMA, EFSA, Health Canada, and other regulatory agencies, ensuring timely and accurate submissions.
• Coordinate audits and regulatory financial filings with legal/compliance teams, facilitating smooth interactions between departments.
• Maintain cost accounting aligned with cGMP and product development standards, ensuring adherence to rigorous quality control measures.
• Support transfer pricing documentation and international tax compliance, minimizing financial risks and optimizing global operations.

Cross-Functional Collaboration and Global Coordination

• Collaborate with R&D, manufacturing, marketing, and operations department heads, fostering strong relationships and driving business success.
• Maintain local statutory reporting compliance in multiple countries, adapting to diverse regulatory environments.
• Manage currency translation and hedging for multinational operations, mitigating exchange rate risks and ensuring financial stability.
• Coordinate M&A due diligence and post-acquisition integration activities, navigating complex transactions and optimizing business outcomes.

Systems and Process Improvement

• Serve as QuickBooks Enterprise Diamond system administrator and power user, leveraging expertise to drive process efficiency and effectiveness.
• Support ERP integration, internal control improvements, and process documentation, enhancing overall system performance and reducing errors.
• Develop financial templates, dashboards, and comprehensive documentation, streamlining financial management and analysis.
• Coordinate system security and data backup with IT teams, ensuring robust protection against cyber threats and data loss.

Strategic and Analytical Support

• Lead budgeting and forecasting for complex product cycles, developing predictive models and driving informed decision-making.
• Provide financial input for capital expenditures, equipment acquisition, and IP valuation, advising on strategic investments and maximizing returns.
• Assist in preparing investor relations materials and board presentation content, communicating key financial information and updates.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• CPA license or international equivalent (CA, CGA, ACCA).
• 5–8 years of accounting experience in regulated industries, with proven expertise in GAAP, IFRS, and international accounting standards.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills, with ability to work independently across time zones in a remote setup.
• Excellent technical proficiencies, including QuickBooks Enterprise Diamond, Microsoft 365/Teams, Adobe Creative Suite, ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, NetSuite), and financial reporting software (Hyperion, Cognos).

Tech Skills:

• QuickBooks Enterprise Diamond (expert level)
• Microsoft 365 / Teams (Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint)
• Adobe Creative Suite (Acrobat Pro, InDesign; basic Photoshop/Illustrator)
• ERP systems: SAP, Oracle, NetSuite (or similar)
• Financial reporting software: Hyperion, Cognos (or similar)
• Knowledge of tax prep, audit, and database tools (SQL preferred)
