Actuarial Assistant Manager Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our In-Force Management team as an Assistant Manager. The successful candidate will play a key role in managing the financial health of our insurance business, including persistency, claims, and earnings.

This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires strong analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of actuarial principles and experience in financial management.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Establish effective management reporting to provide insights into various in-force financial health measures.
  • Support quarterly reviews with senior country leadership and regional heads to ensure alignment on key priorities.
  • Analyze persistency drivers and develop recommendations to improve financial and non-financial outcomes.
  • Provide claims analytics and recommend actions to optimize claims management.
  • Ensure transparency to senior management on tradeoffs between short-term and long-term goals.
  • Support investigations related to reinsurance for capital optimization, risk reduction, or earnings management.
  • Contribute to cross-functional initiatives on policy buy-out or transfer programs.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, or Statistics.
  • Associate membership in recognized actuarial organizations (e.g. SoA, ASP).
  • 5+ years of experience in financial management of an insurance business.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Able to work independently with minimal guidance.
