Tax Analyst Role Overview: In this key role, you will drive finance compliance initiatives in accordance with government and regulatory laws, rules, and regulations implemented by various government agencies. You will ensure accurate and timely filing of tax returns, supporting the finance compliance team's overall planning initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Fully comply with and meet deadlines for submitting DST, FWT, WVAT, WTC, VAT, EWT, FBT, Income Tax, and Annual Information Returns to BIR, along with the required attachments (alphalists and summary lists).
  • Administer and submit various administrative compliances to BIR, encompassing Quarterly and Annual ITR attachments, Books of Accounts, Donation notifications, and Sworn Declarations of Vendors, amongst others.
  • Compile documents and produce reconciliation schedules as requested during BIR audits and VAT refund applications, guaranteeing accuracy and timeliness.
  • Execute month-end closing duties connected to tax provision, tax reclassification, and tidy-up of tax General Ledger accounts.
  • Audit quarterly and annual Income Tax provisions for accuracy.
  • Closely monitor tax GL accounts to guarantee they align with filed tax returns, uploading reconciliation schedules in FloQast when necessary.
  • Engage with BIR regarding various applications, such as BIR COR updates, company/branch registration/closure, CAS permit, and tax inquiries, as necessitated.
  • Promote tax projects and offer assistance to other teams with any tax-related matters or communications.
  • Facilitate preparation of Tax Notes in AFS and General Form Financial Statements, uploading them in the SEC eFAST portal upon demand.
  • Undertake additional responsibilities such as archiving tax files, updating SI/AR records if necessary, coordinating with experts on task-related assignments, etc.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, or Finance.
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant work experience in tax, PEZA/BIR, and government compliance, and BOI/SEC/BOC specifications.
  • Sound understanding of accounting norms and principles.
  • Adopt sound planning, organizational methods, focusing on minute details and quality outcomes.
  • Simple familiarity with ORACLE, SAP, or similar ERP systems can be advantageous, although it is not essential.
  • Preparedness to visit multiple government offices periodically as mandated by job obligations.
