Software Developer Position

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented software developer to join our team.

Job Description

The ideal candidate will work closely with our lead developer to implement backend features based on clear specifications and requirements. This role is perfect for a detail-oriented developer who thrives on following established patterns and producing reliable, well-tested code.

Responsibilities:
  • Implement backend services and features using Node.js and JavaScript based on provided specifications.
  • Follow established coding conventions, patterns, and architectural guidelines.
  • Conduct thorough manual QA and testing of implemented features before submission.
  • Read and understand detailed requirements, asking clarifying questions when needed.
  • Collaborate with the lead engineer to ensure seamless integration with existing systems.
  • Write clean, maintainable code that adheres to Applause's engineering standards.
  • Participate in code reviews with a focus on learning and consistency.
  • Debug and troubleshoot issues methodically and thoroughly.

Key Skills Required:

  • 5+ years of experience with JavaScript and Node.js.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to code quality.
  • Excellent ability to follow established coding styles and conventions.
  • Proven track record of implementing features based on written requirements and specifications.
  • Experience with manual QA and testing methodologies.
  • Strong reading comprehension and the ability to ask clarifying questions.
  • Experience with databases (PostgreSQL or similar).
  • Self-motivated and effective in a remote-work environment.
