Job Summary

We are seeking an analytical Business Intelligence Specialist to transform data into actionable insights. The ideal candidate will analyze startup ecosystems, build data visualizations, and streamline reporting to help identify opportunities and make informed investment decisions.

About the Role

  • Analyze startup databases and financial metrics to uncover early-stage investment opportunities.
  • Track industry trends, deal activity, and portfolio performance.
  • Support research efforts for new markets, sectors, and technologies.
  • Develop dashboards and reports to track key performance indicators and market developments.
  • Maintain and improve internal databases of companies, contacts, and industry benchmarks.
  • Automate routine data tasks using Excel, SQL, or lightweight scripting languages.
  • Assist in preparing reports, visuals, and summaries for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Support due diligence processes with data summaries and benchmarking.
  • Collaborate with associates and partners to deliver data-driven recommendations.
  • Help roll out native AI solutions across the organization to improve efficiency and deal quality.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Computer Science, Economics, Data Science, or a related field.
  • 2–4 years of experience in business intelligence, data analysis, or consulting.
  • Prior experience in startups or venture capital firms is strongly preferred; a demonstrated interest is a plus.
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Proficiency in Python or R programming languages.
  • SQL for querying structured datasets.
  • Familiarity with business intelligence tools like Tableau, Power BI, or Looker.
  • Ability to work U.S. business hours (Pacific Time, Central Time, or Eastern Time)
