Job Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled Back-End Developer to join our team and contribute to the development of our cloud-based geospatial platform.

The ideal candidate will have experience in building public-facing API products, designing scalable and high-performance backend systems, and working with AWS services such as API Gateway, Lambda, and the Serverless Stack.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable, high-performance backend systems and APIs.
  • Develop and manage public-facing APIs, ensuring secure, reliable, and efficient access.
  • Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines to support continuous integration and deployment.
  • Implement observability practices using tools like Datadog or New Relic.
  • Collaborate with frontend developers, product teams, and stakeholders to align backend architecture with product needs.
  • Work with PostgreSQL and PostGIS for advanced SQL and geospatial data management.
  • Develop and deploy solutions within AWS environments (API Gateway, Lambda, Serverless Stack).
  • Support microservices-based architectures and event-driven workflows (e.g., webhooks).
  • Troubleshoot, optimize, and enhance system performance and reliability.

Requirements:

  • 5 years of backend software development experience, including building public-facing API products.
  • Strong programming skills in Python, with expertise in frameworks such as Flask or FastAPI.
  • High proficiency in SQL and PostgreSQL, with experience in geospatial extensions like PostGIS.
  • Solid understanding of full-stack technologies required to build and run APIs.
  • Skilled in RESTful API design and management, ensuring scalability and performance.
  • Hands-on experience working with AWS services, including API Gateway, Lambda, and the Serverless Stack.
  • Familiarity with microservices architecture and event-driven technologies such as webhooks.
  • Experience integrating spatial mapping libraries like Mapbox or working with GIS concepts relevant to utility networks.
  • Production-level experience with observability tools like Datadog or New Relic.
  • Strong grasp of CI/CD methodologies and ability to build and maintain pipelines effectively.
  • Experienced in working with agile development methodologies.
