Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Accountant to join our organization. The ideal candidate will have strong accounting knowledge, experience with UK accounting standards and regulations, and excellent communication skills.

  • Review the work of junior accountants to ensure accuracy and quality of financial statements, VAT returns, corporate tax returns, and other accounting deliverables before submission.
  • Oversee the preparation and submission of UK corporate tax returns, VAT returns, and P11Ds while ensuring regulatory compliance.
  • Supervise and review UK payroll processes, ensuring compliance with HMRC regulations.
  • Assist in preparing statutory accounts for UK limited companies in accordance with UK accounting standards.
  • Work closely with junior bookkeepers, providing guidance and constructive feedback, while ensuring deadlines are met.
  • Liaise effectively with clients regarding financial reports, tax matters, and compliance requirements.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Experience in a UK accounting firm, with a strong understanding of UK accounting standards and best practices.
  • Proven ability to review junior's work, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • In-depth knowledge of UK corporate tax, VAT, P11Ds, and statutory accounts up until submission.
  • Extensive experience managing UK payroll and HMRC compliance.
  • Leadership and team delegation experience, supervising and mentoring accounting teams.
  • Strong working knowledge of Xero and other UK accounting software.
  • High level of accuracy, problem-solving ability, and analytical thinking.
  • Excellent English language proficiency (written and verbal).
