About the Role

The Generic Medicine Expert will be responsible for controlling, dispensing, distributing, and promoting generic medicines in accordance with legal and ethical guidelines.

Responsibilities:
  • Filling prescription forms and preparing orders on the computer station
  • Dispensing drugs and counseling customers
  • Assisting new staff on actual store operations
  • Ordering and storing medicines, ensuring their safety, purity, and effectiveness
  • Dispensing medications following prescriptions issued by authorized medical practitioners
  • Overseeing the performance of packaging, labeling, measuring, compounding, storing, charging, and recording medications used in patient care
  • Reviewing prescriptions for appropriateness of therapy to determine ingredients needed and to ensure correct dosage
  • Advising patients and care providers of potential drug interactions, possible side effects, storage information, and instructions on how to use medications
  • Presenting drug lectures to medical nursing staff, physicians, and other groups on matters pertaining to pharmacy
  • Preparing sterile products for patient administration; determining proper preparation, packaging, sterilization, storage, and stability requirements of the product
  • Assisting clinicians in establishing the proper protocols, storage, distribution, and administration procedures for investigational drugs
  • Training and supervising Pharmacy Assistants as assigned
  • Developing or participating in clinical pharmaceutical research
  • Serving as a preceptor for pharmacy interns
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's/College Degree in Pharmacy
  • Registered Licensed Pharmacist
  • 6-months retail/drugstore experience
  • Familiarity with Point-of-sale (POS) systems
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Good communication skills
  • Strong customer relations skills
  • Knowledge in computer software (POS)
  • Maintains professional attitude in manner and appearance
