Senior Backend Developer Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Senior Backend Developer to join our team. As a key member of our development team, you will play a crucial role in designing and implementing robust backend systems.

Your primary focus will be on creating scalable and efficient backend services that enhance user experiences across our applications. You will work closely with a talented team of developers and engineers to drive innovation and growth.

Main Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and maintain high-performance backend applications and services.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define architecture and implement APIs for seamless integration with front-end components.
  • Optimize existing backend services for performance and scalability.
  • Ensure the security and integrity of data through implementing best practices in database management.
  • Lead code reviews and provide mentorship to junior and mid-level developers.
  • Troubleshoot and debug applications to identify and resolve issues promptly.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies, making recommendations to improve our tech stack.
  • Contribute to the design and architecture of microservices and serverless components.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in backend development with a strong focus on server-side architecture.
  • Proficiency in one or more programming languages such as Node.js, Python, Java, or Ruby.
  • Extensive experience with database technologies (SQL and NoSQL) and data modeling.
  • Hands-on experience in designing and consuming RESTful APIs and/or GraphQL services.
  • Familiarity with cloud solutions and platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Understanding of containerization and orchestration tools (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Strong knowledge of security standards and best practices for web applications.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and in a team environment.
