Cloud Engineering Lead Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Cloud Engineer to lead our cloud engineering team. As a Cloud Engineering Lead, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining our cloud infrastructure.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in storage technologies, backup and restore solutions, cloud technologies, and virtualization. They should be proficient in administering cloud services, including Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Microsoft Azure.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain high availability, performance, and reliability of storage infrastructure.
  • Provision, configure, troubleshoot, and perform break-fix activities on storage operations and administration.
  • Design and implement backup as a service (BaaS) solutions using Commvault and Veeam, ensuring effective backup and recovery strategies.
  • Manage and optimize virtualization environments using VMware, including vCenter, vSAN, and ESXi.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to automate cloud operations and improve overall system efficiency.
  • Provide guidance on storage technologies, backup solutions, and industry best practices to ensure team proficiency and alignment with standards.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot cloud infrastructure, addressing issues related to performance, security, and availability.
  • Maintain documentation for cloud architecture, backup processes, and incident responses.
  • Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry trends related to cloud computing and storage.
  • People and Time Management

Technical Skills:

  • Experience as a Storage Engineer with expertise across multiple storage technologies like Dell/EMC, ECS, HPE, etc.
  • Proficient in backup and restore concepts and hands-on experience with Commvault and Veeam.
  • Strong understanding of virtualization technologies, particularly VMware.
  • Basic administration skills in Windows and Linux environments.
  • Familiarity with Dell and HP hardware.
  • Good knowledge of network and security fundamentals.
