Cloud Reliability Engineering Expert

This is a remote, full-time position with a project-based work arrangement.

About the Role
  • The ideal candidate will possess in-depth knowledge of reliability engineering principles and their application in cloud computing environments.
  • A strong understanding of incident management, on-call practices, and blameless postmortems is essential for this role.
Responsibilities
  1. Develop and implement SRE adoption strategies across teams and applications.
  2. Utilize expertise in Google Cloud Platform services to design, deploy, and manage scalable, reliable, and secure infrastructure.
  3. Maintain and improve Kubernetes clusters, including workload optimization, network policies, service mesh, and troubleshooting.
  4. Design and implement monitoring, logging, and tracing systems aligned with Service Level Objectives (SLOs) and Service Level Indicators (SLIs).
  5. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize application performance, resiliency, and cost efficiency in cloud-native environments.
  6. Automate reliability tasks, reduce toil, and scale best practices across multiple applications using CI/CD pipelines and release engineering best practices.
  7. Evangelize SRE best practices and influence engineering/product teams to adopt them.
  8. Mentor engineers and establish communities of practice around reliability.
  9. Effectively communicate with stakeholders to balance product delivery goals with reliability requirements.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in cloud computing, with a focus on Google Cloud Platform services.
  • Proven track record of driving SRE adoption and culture change across teams and applications.
  • Strong knowledge of monitoring, logging, and tracing, as well as alerting strategies aligned with SLOs/SLIs.
  • Hands-on experience optimizing application performance, resiliency, and cost efficiency in cloud-native environments.
  • Expertise in automating reliability tasks, reducing toil, and scaling best practices across multiple applications.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and release engineering best practices.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
