Staff Accountant Job Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our finance team as a Staff Accountant. The ideal candidate holds an accounting degree and demonstrates a strong aptitude for financial analysis and general ledgers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Process high volumes of vendor invoices.
  • Maintain General Ledger: Record all financial transactions accurately in the general ledger system.
  • Prepare Financial Statements: Generate periodic financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
  • Financial Reporting: Compile and analyze financial information to prepare reports and statements.
  • Reconcile Accounts: Ensure the accuracy of accounts by reconciling discrepancies and making adjustments as necessary.
  • Month-end and Year-end Close: Lead or assist in the month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Handle Accruals and Prepayments: Manage accruals for expenses incurred but not yet paid and prepayments for expenses paid in advance.
  • Assist in Audits: Provide necessary information and support during internal and external audits.
  • Financial Analysis: Conduct variance analysis and provide insights into financial performance.
  • Comply with Accounting Standards and Regulations: Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and other financial reporting requirements.
Candidate Qualifications

The ideal candidates for this position are highly motivated and dedicated individuals who possess the below qualities:

  • Accounting degree
  • Experience with GLs
  • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Proficiency in English (verbal and written)
  • Strong organization and communication skills
  • Accounting system: Great Plains (GP) or any ERP system
