Establishing a robust financial foundation is crucial for the success of any organization. As a seasoned Financial Controller, you will be responsible for overseeing the bookkeeping and accounting functions across multiple entities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Daily Transaction Management
    • Accurately record all financial transactions, including sales, expenses, payroll entries, and inventory adjustments.
    • Process accounts payable (vendor bills, reimbursements) and accounts receivable (invoicing, payment posting).
    • Maintain organized, up-to-date accounting records for each entity.
  • Bank and Payment Processor Reconciliation
    • Reconcile bank, credit card, merchant accounts (Shopify, Amazon, PayPal, Stripe, etc.), and loan accounts monthly.
    • Ensure all transactions are properly categorized and supported with documentation.
  • Intercompany Transactions
    • Record and reconcile intercompany transfers, charges, and loans.
    • Ensure intercompany accounts net to zero at each month-end close.
  • Monthly Close and Financial Reporting
    • Perform complete month-end close for each entity.
    • Prepare and deliver P&L, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow statements by the agreed timeline.
    • Provide variance analysis comparing actual results to budget or forecast.
  • Compliance and Tax Coordination
    • Maintain accurate sales tax records and file returns on schedule.
    • Provide timely documentation to external accountants for quarterly and annual filings.
    • Support audits with necessary records and schedules.
  • Cash Flow Management
    • Maintain a rolling 12-month cash forecast.
    • Monitor daily cash balances and upcoming obligations.
    • Alert management of potential cash shortfalls in advance.
  • Process Improvement and System Management
    • Maintain and improve accounting systems.
    • Recommend process improvements for greater accuracy and efficiency.
    • Ensure proper internal controls are followed to safeguard company assets.
    Preferred Qualifications:
    • 3+ years of hands-on bookkeeping experience, ideally in a multi-entity environment.
    • Strong understanding of GAAP accounting principles.
    • Proficiency in QuickBooks Online, Xero, or similar cloud-based accounting software.
    • Comfort working with payment processors, merchant accounts, and multi-channel sales data.
    • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
    • E-commerce/Amazon experience is beneficial, but not required.
