Join a dynamic team as we seek to advance our risk management capabilities through proactive challenge and monitoring.

This role will support the second line of defense, maintaining relationships with Business Group Risk Teams focused on process and control effectiveness.

Key Responsibilities
  • Shifting from reactive to proactive challenge approaches, embedded with first-line leadership, providing real-time feedback across key initiatives and processes.
  • Ensuring that challenge processes and artifacts provide management with appropriate insight to inform ET and Board decisions on Technology & Cyber Risk Management practices and risk posture.
Requirements
  • University degree or equivalent experience, with 3-6 years of experience or high school diploma with 6-10 years of experience.
  • Information technology or security professional certification, such as ITIL, CISSP, CISM, or CISA, or audit certification with relevant work experience.
  • In-depth understanding of risk management life cycle, including risk identification, assessment, response, reporting, and review.
  • Global technology and information management standards and requirements, including NIST Cyber Security Framework.
  • First-line defense information processes, controls, and systems at Sun Life, an asset.
  • Execution of RCSAs, Operational Risk Events, Key Risk Indicators, Scenario Analysis, Control Design, Operating Effectiveness Assessment, Control Testing, and Substantive Testing.
  • Effective presentation, communication, negotiation, and conflict management skills.
  • Strong relationship management skills and proven ability to gain credibility with stakeholders.
  • Effective change management through strong impact and influence skills.
