This position involves developing and maintaining compliance frameworks, overseeing regulatory submissions, and ensuring adherence to privacy laws. The DPO works closely with internal teams, legal partners, and third-party service providers to implement and monitor compliance and data protection policies effectively.

Your Key Roles:

Develop and maintain compliance frameworks to ensure regulatory compliance.

Manage and coordinate the preparation and timely submission of regulatory filings while resolving any compliance issues with relevant business units.

Review, negotiate, and approve compliance-related terms and conditions in contracts with external service providers.

  • Internal Compliance:
  • Establish, enforce, and audit internal compliance policies, procedures, and guidelines while addressing any identified violations.
  • Provide compliance-related advice and guidance to various departments.
  • Ensure all deliverables requested by external legal counsel are completed accurately and on schedule.
  • Oversee internal compliance projects and present monthly progress reports to the Board's Credit and Risk Committee.

Data Privacy Compliance:

  • Ensure timely submission of all required reports under the Data Privacy Act of 2012, including breach notifications and annual privacy filings.
  • Implement and monitor data privacy policies across business operations, ensuring continuous adherence.
  • Conduct Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs) and provide necessary approvals for new projects or external partnerships.
  • Oversee internal audits and third-party data privacy reviews, ensuring compliance with data protection standards.
  • Design and deliver monthly training sessions on data privacy and security, ensuring full execution of the training calendar.

Essential Skills:

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in compliance, data protection, and privacy.
  • A valid Data Protection Officer (DPO) certification is required.
  • Proven experience in developing and implementing compliance and data privacy frameworks.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to handle multiple projects independently.
  • A thorough understanding of Philippine laws related to compliance, data privacy, and data protection.
  • Experience working with legal teams and external counsel, especially on compliance and privacy matters.
  • Preferably experienced in startup environments or industries such as lending, banking, or fintech.
