Investment Support Specialist

This role oversees the booking, balancing, and payment processing for trades undertaken by various desks.

  • Oversees cash management of turned-over trust accounts, including investment/funding instructions for retirement funds, investment management accounts, etc.
  • Monitors and checks daily transaction encoding of all pooled funds orders and segregated portfolio orders including retail orders.
  • Ensures that support function activities are carried out properly, efficiently, and effectively within established policies, procedures, processes, and strategies.
  • Oversees non-trade management, routing, and processing of IMD transactions.
  • Facilitates necessary account opening and maintenance with counterparties acting in a fiduciary role to clients.
  • Coordinates trade and non-trade transactions with counterparties and custodians.
  • Checks, approves, and signs documentary requirements necessary to facilitate implementation of trade and non-trade related activities.
  • Checks and approves requests through Electronic Approval Channels to facilitate implementation of trade and non-trade related activities.
  • Checks and approves trade-related client bookkeeping entries and/or other necessary bookkeeping entries assigned by the Business in bookkeeping systems.
  • Liaises between Traders and Operations for troubleshooting settlements.
  • Coordinates with Operations for necessary actions on corporate actions.
  • Manages queries from internal clients for trade and in-kind contributions/transfers to and from client accounts.
  • Works with Risk and Compliance for requests from counterparties in compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Acts as point of contact to Brokers and Counterparties for trade related requirements.
  • Facilitates account opening and trade documentation.
  • Assists Fund Managers and Custodians in establishing and maintaining custodianship accounts.
  • Formulates, evaluates, and implements procedures, process improvements, and re-engineering as needed for IMD and operational efficiency.
  • Assesses, initiates, proposes, and implements automation of various transaction and information management processes for cost and time efficiency to increase business capacity and improve business output quality.
  • Ensures business continuity management is consistently applied to maintain 'business-as-usual' in times of incomplete personnel availability.
  • Ensures continuous training, skill upgrading, and career development of supervised personnel.
  • Provides timely assistance to and monitoring of queries or requests of internal and external clients and counterparties, branches, other units, and groups with the goal that queries or requests are successfully fulfilled.
  • Reviews and sends reports such as Daily TOD report, Pooled Funds subscriptions/redemptions, FI and Equities Consolidated Orders, End of Day Cash Balance for Pooled Funds, Negative list, etc.
  • Alternate Officer of all IMD-Investment Support units.
  • System administrator of IMD's databases and group addresses.
