Structural Detailer Job Overview

This role involves setting modeling standards and ensuring the quality and accuracy of structural models.

We are seeking a skilled professional to produce high-quality structural drawings and Revit models that meet our strict standards. The successful candidate will be responsible for executing complex geometry in models, ensuring construction documents are accurately modeled, and creating special conditions/complex family creation.

The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills and be able to work closely with the project team to obtain project information and ensure drawings are accurate and complete.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Produce structural drawings and create Revit models that meet quality standards.
  • Quality check own work, project, and design modelers.
  • Execute complex geometry in models.
  • Ensure construction documents are accurately modeled.
  • Create special conditions/complex family creation.
  • Presentation on considerations (use of 3D views).
  • Follow BIM content standards and development procedures.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Balance multiple deadlines and changing priorities.
  • Manage tasks related to client coordination, including proactive communication and coordination with external teams.
  • Identify underdeveloped areas in design and provide options for the technical lead.
  • Participate in continuous improvement activities, including seeking out continuing education and participating in material groups.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree preferred; Associates or combined education and experience.
  • Autodesk Certified Professional: Revit for Structural Design.
  • 3+ years of full-time work experience in structural design.
  • Experience in mid-sized structural projects ($5M - $50M).
  • 3+ years Revit Experience.
  • Working knowledge of concrete, steel, wood, light gauge, and/or masonry design.
  • Strong organization, oral, and written communication skills.
