Job Title: Retail Financial Operations Specialist

Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and tech-savvy professional to support fast-growing businesses in the jewelry retail industry. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, streamlining transaction processing, and supporting key automation initiatives using QuickBooks Online (QBO) and other financial tools.

The ideal candidate is highly adaptable, comfortable wearing many hats in a fast-paced environment, and has experience in retail bookkeeping. You must be ready to jump in, lighten the team's load, and make a meaningful impact through operational excellence and innovation.

Responsibilities
  • Transaction Processing: Record and categorize daily financial transactions in QuickBooks Online (QBO) accurately.
  • Accounts Payable and Receivable: Process accounts payable and receivable transactions, including invoice entry, payments, and reconciliations.
  • General Ledger Maintenance: Maintain an organized and up-to-date general ledger.
  • Bank and Credit Card Reconciliation: Reconcile bank and credit card accounts regularly, identifying and resolving discrepancies.

Additional Responsibilities: Provide retail accounting support, including inventory tracking, cost-of-goods-sold (COGS) allocations, and POS system integration; assist with the financial nuances of jewelry sales, returns, and vendor purchasing; utilize Bill.com to process and manage vendor payments efficiently and support payroll administration in coordination with internal systems and external providers.

Reporting and Analysis: Assist with reporting and financial analysis tasks, including generating financial statements (P&L, balance sheets, cash flow) and identifying trends for cost optimization or revenue improvement.

Collaboration and Technology: Collaborate with the CFO team to support forecasting and budgeting efforts; contribute to technology and automation initiatives, including automating workflows using QuickBooks Online, Microsoft Excel, or other integrated tools.
