Job Title: Financial Accountant

Financial Accounting Role

The Financial Accountant plays a vital role in maintaining the company's financial integrity by ensuring accurate and timely posting of accounting journal entries, completing monthly balance sheet reconciliations, and assisting with external audits.

This key member of the finance team will collaborate closely with the Finance Manager and Director of Finance to develop skills in a rapidly growing business.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Financial Reporting: Handle timely and accurate preparation of all financial reports including completion of assigned monthly balance sheet reconciliations with supporting documentation available for all key positions.
  2. External Audit Assistance: Assist with the external audit process together with the Finance Manager.
  3. Ad Hoc Tasks and Project Work: Assist with ad hoc tasks and project work as required.
  4. Team Collaboration: Demonstrate excellent team collaboration and communication, supporting the continued development of the high-performance culture through active participation in group-wide projects as needed.
  5. Continuous Improvement: Seek continuous improvement of financial accounting processes to enable delivery of an efficient and streamlined service, documenting changes to processes and procedures.
  6. Internal and External Reporting: Perform key internal and external reporting matters as required.
  7. Reconciliation and Analysis: Reconcile KPOS to the accounting ledger for assigned areas, conduct sales and margin analysis, and assist in budgeting.
  8. Reporting Pack Preparation: Assist in the accurate and timely preparation of the month-end management reporting pack, including commentary/analysis.
  9. Statutory Financial Statements: Assist in the preparation of statutory financial statements.
  10. Supporting Schedules: Assist in preparing supporting schedules and information regarding tax, FBT, audit, and other compliance.
  11. Monthly BAS: Prepare the monthly BAS.
  12. BI Reporting and Dashboards: Develop and maintain BI reporting and dashboards in Phocas.
  13. Turnover Rent Calculations: Prepare turnover rent calculations.
  14. Junior Accountant Back-up: Act as a back-up to the junior accountant role during busy periods or leave coverage.
