Financial Accounting Lead

This is an exciting opportunity to take ownership of our entire financial accounting function.

As a key member of the corporate team, you will be instrumental in shaping our finance department and building key processes supporting our company's rapid growth.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the financial accounting process: Take full responsibility for end-to-end general ledger processes, including accounts payable/receivable, payroll, journal entries, and reconciliations.
  • Oversee financial activities: Manage monthly project costing, departmental reporting, and lead R&D tax rebate submissions.
  • Improve financial systems: Drive continuous improvement of financial policies and procedures, ensuring efficient, accurate, and scalable systems.
  • Manage external relationships: Serve as primary point of contact for external auditors, tax advisors, and consultants, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.
Qualifications:
  • Highly experienced finance professional with a strong background supporting businesses.
  • Bachelor degree in commerce and/or accounting and CPA qualification (or equivalent).
  • Existing Financial Controller or Finance Manager with 10+ years experience supporting an Australian based business (preferably with international operations).
  • Strong working knowledge of Australian payroll and GST legislation.
  • Proven experience managing offshore teams and building relationships with stakeholders across a business, along with management of external auditors and tax consultants.
  • Experience/comfortable working in a fast-moving start-up/scale-up environment.
