We seek a skilled professional to join our Data Infrastructure team as a Software Engineer. This key role involves designing, building, and maintaining backend services, including payments, analytics, subscriptions, text-to-speech, and external APIs.

This position requires someone who can think strategically, thrive in fast-paced environments, and make informed product decisions with passion. The ideal candidate will have experience crafting exceptional user experiences that delight users.

Our interview process involves several technical assessments, which we complete within 1 week.

Key Responsibilities

  • Source new audio data and integrate it into our ingestion pipeline efficiently.
  • Operate and extend the cloud infrastructure for our ingestion pipeline, leveraging GCP and Terraform.
  • Collaborate closely with our Scientists to deliver richer data at bigger scale and lower cost, powering our next-generation models.
  • Craft the AI Team's dataset roadmap to power Speechify's consumer and enterprise products.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's/Master's/PhD degree in Computer Science or related field.
  • 5+ years of industry experience in software development.
  • Proficiency in bash/Python scripting in Linux environments.
  • Experience with Docker and Infrastructure-as-Code concepts, with professional experience on major Cloud Providers (GCP).
  • Background in web crawlers and large-scale data processing workflows is beneficial.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
