PLC System Engineer Job Description

We are seeking a skilled PLC system engineer to join our team. As a senior-level professional, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing control systems using programmable logic controllers (PLCs). Your expertise in PLC programming languages such as Ladder Logic, Function Block Diagram, and Structured Text will enable you to develop efficient and reliable automation solutions.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Design and Development: Design and develop control systems using PLCs, taking into account safety standards, specifications, and performance requirements.
  • Installation and Configuration: Install and configure PLC hardware and software, ensuring optimal performance and integration with other control systems.
  • Programming and Troubleshooting: Develop and modify PLC programs using programming languages such as Ladder Logic, Function Block Diagram, and Structured Text, and troubleshoot programming issues.
  • Maintenance and Repair: Regularly perform checks and maintenance to prevent breakdowns, diagnose and resolve technical issues related to PLC hardware and software, and perform repairs and replacements as needed.
  • Testing and Calibration: Test PLC systems and associated equipment to verify proper operation, and calibrate and adjust PLC settings to maintain accuracy and performance.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain detailed records of PLC configurations, programming changes, and maintenance activities, and prepare and submit reports on system performance, issues, and resolutions.
Requirements:
  • Education: Associate's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Automation, or a related field is required; Bachelor's degree is a plus.
  • Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience working with PLC systems in an industrial setting is required.
  • Skills: Proficiency in PLC programming languages (e.g., Ladder Logic, Function Block Diagram, Structured Text), strong understanding of electrical systems, schematics, and wiring diagrams, excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, ability to work independently and as part of a team.
