Senior Data Engineer Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Data Engineer to join our global team. As the foundational member of our new Manila-based team, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our data infrastructure and processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead efforts to recruit and mentor junior engineers, fostering a collaborative environment.
  • Design, build, and maintain robust systems and infrastructure for processing and analysing large datasets.
  • Create performant batch and streaming data pipelines using Apache Airflow, Apache Kafka, and Apache Flink.
  • Develop scalable cloud-based systems on Amazon Web Services (AWS) or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
  • Improve Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment processes using Jenkins and GitLab to automate development, testing, and deployment.
  • Oversee the maintenance and monitoring of various data applications, pipelines, and databases.
Requirements

Qualified candidates will possess:

  • A Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of experience in data engineering or a similar field.
  • Proficiency in Python with Pandas, Dask, Pyspark, and SQL; knowledge of Java, C#, or C++ is advantageous.
  • Experience with REST APIs and building scalable API data platforms.
  • Familiarity with AWS, Snowflake, Kubernetes, and Prometheus for monitoring and alerting.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with ability to interact with business and technical teams.
