Data Integration Specialist Role

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Data Integration Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in ETL design and development, as well as excellent problem-solving skills.

  • This role involves designing, implementing, and maintaining data integrations from internal and external sources into the enterprise data warehouse technical stack.
  • The successful candidate will work closely with the data team to ensure accurate data delivery to systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Design and implement ETL components using Matillion or other industry-leading tools.
  2. Develop complex SQL queries and stored procedures to extract and insert data into and from the data warehouse.
  3. Leverage monitoring tools to track status of ETL pipelines for performance and completion.
  4. Collaborate with business analysts and technical architects to clarify business requirements and offer recommendations for improvements.
  5. Contribute to defining a scalable data warehouse architecture.
  6. Coordinate production, development, and sandbox environments.
  7. Participate in routine maintenance, performance tuning, and support of ETL and the DW environment.

Requirements:

  • At least 2+ years of experience working with ETL in an enterprise environment.
  • Knowledge in ETL design methodologies, including best practices, performance tuning, architecture, monitoring, and alerting.
  • Experience with relational and dimensional data modeling and ability to represent data using standard modeling techniques.
  • Proficient with SQL and stored procedures.
  • Experience in working with at least one of these warehouse technologies: SQL, Snowflake, AWS Redshift.
  • Ability to deliver work to schedule (self-manage workload and priorities).

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience with developing and testing APIs.
  • Experience with Snowflake and/or columnar data stores.
  • Experience with PowerBI.
  • Experience designing and managing end-to-end business reporting, from data sourcing and mapping, through to the production and delivery of reports.
